Description: The Bidada International Foundation hosts an annual medical camp in the village of Bidada, Kutch, India. Volunteers treat and see patients from over 1000 villages in a variety medical and surgical specialties. Due to massive earthquakes in Kutch, India, oftentimes surgical procedures treat these victims and provide food and shelter for them as well as rebuilding houses and communities.

Nursing: Volunteer nurses partner with healthcare workers from Mumbai to provide patient care in the Bidada hospital as well as the Jaya rehab center.

Mercy Ships

Description: Mercy Ships provides a "floating hospital", delivering care to impoverished communities in Africa. The mission of Africa Mercy brings volunteer medical teams and sterile operating rooms directly to people who would otherwise go without care.

Nursing: Nurse's roles on the ship include working in one of the 5 surgical suites or in some of the 80 total patient beds. Beyond on-board surgeries, ashore activities include medical and dental clinics as well as community health education.

Friends Without a Border

Description: Friends Without a Border works to provide sustainable healthcare solutions in developing countries by providing medical care, continuing education to health professionals, and improving the health and nutrition of communities. Through two hospitals 20,000+ children are treated annuall and provide numerous surgerys and postoperative care.

Nursing: Nurses can volunteer to supervise clinicians and educate other local nurses. These volunteers usually must commit at least 1 month.
